Today’s inspiration is Masks! The pictures below are new props for future boudoir sessions that arrived this week. I am so excited to start playing with these.

“Beneath the make-up and behind the mask, I am just a girl who wishes for the world.” – Marilyn Monroe

I do believe that we all wear masks in life as well. Much the same as someone who says they “wear many hats.” Our masks help explain who we are, and while they can be dangerous:

We understand how dangerous a mask can be. We all become what we pretend to be.” – Patrick Rothfuss, The Name of the Wind

It can also be liberating to become what we are pretending to be. A teacher of mine in college used to say, “imitate greatness until it becomes habit.” Or there’s always the very plain “fake it until you make it.” If you pretend that you are sexy and beautiful and confident, even if you’re not feeling it, eventually it will become truth. You will become what you once pretended you were. I don’t think this is a bad thing at all. So all in all, what do I mean for you to take away from this? You are beautiful. You are incredible. Even if you don’t feel it now, pretend. Try it on and see what happens.

Also, I would like to remind you all that there are still times left for the Boudoir Weekend in Chicago! I can’t wait to show you all how amazing you are!
